The Tadami River is a symbolic presence of Tadami Town and, by extension, the Aizu region. Flowing calmly and unhurriedly alongside the Tadami Line, its tranquil waters and surrounding scenery have long been cherished by people. Where there is a river, there are bridges. As the Tadami Line crosses the Tadami River, trains pass over numerous bridges along the route. The extraordinary scenes created by the combination of the Tadami River—framed by the natural beauty of Oku-Aizu—and the man-made elements of bridges and trains make a perfect subject for photography enthusiasts. Especially during the peak of the autumn foliage season, photographers gather with their cameras, waiting for that fleeting shutter moment. Enjoying the spectacular views from inside the train is a pleasure in itself, but watching a train cross a bridge from afar, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, has its own unique charm. This autumn, why not set out in search of a train crossing a bridge ablaze with autumn colors?
