The Aizu-Yanazu Station building, which reopened in April 2024 as the “Yanazu Town Aizu-Yanazu Station Information and Exchange Center,” is inviting submissions for an official nickname to help local residents and visitors feel even more familiar with and connected to the facility.
Facility Overview
(1) Facility Functions: Waiting area, Akabeko Workshop, workshop space, café space, tourist information counter, local products sales area, and diorama display.
(2) Concept:
The Aizu-Yanazu Station building, originally constructed in 1927, is a historic structure. It was renovated based on the concept of preserving and passing on the station building while contributing to regional revitalization.
While retaining its charming traditional appearance, the building was upgraded with seismic reinforcement and new features such as the Akabeko Workshop and a café, reopening as an information and exchange center.
Award:
The selected entrant will receive a certificate of commendation and a commemorative gift.

Selection & Announcement:
From among the submitted entries, the town will select and officially adopt a nickname following review by a screening committee.
The selection results will be notified directly to the chosen applicant and will also be announced on the Yanazu Town website and other official channels.
