The Tadami River Line Tourism Association (Yanazu Town, Mishima Town, Kaneyama Town, Showa Village, and Tadami Town) is hosting the “Oku-Aizu & Tadami Line Art Contest” with the aim of increasing interest in Oku-Aizu and the Tadami Line and promoting their unique charm.
Why not create a painting inspired by Oku-Aizu or the Tadami Line?
We look forward to receiving many submissions!
Submission Categories (must meet one of the following criteria):
• Artwork depicting the Oku-Aizu region (Yanazu Town, Mishima Town, Kaneyama Town, Showa Village, or Tadami Town)
• Artwork depicting the Tadami Line, including station buildings, trains, views from the train windows, or scenery along the railway line
Application Period
July 8 (Mon), 2024 – September 6 (Fri), 2024
Entries must arrive by the final day.
Eligibility
Open to all applicants.
Categories
- Elementary School Division
- Junior High School Division
- General Division (High School Students and Above)
Submission Guidelines (Applicable to All Categories)
- Size: Up to four-sheet drawing paper size (approximately 395 × 546 mm)
- Materials: No restrictions (any medium may be used)
- Notes
- Each person may submit only one artwork.
- The copyright and usage rights of submitted works shall belong to the Tadami River Line Tourism Association. The Association reserves the right to publish, announce, display, print, and distribute the works free of charge without obtaining prior consent from the applicant.
- Works that have previously won awards in other contests, as well as works currently submitted to other contests, are not eligible for entry.
- Any personal information provided in the application will be used only to the extent necessary for the administration of the contest.
- No objections or appeals regarding the judging results will be accepted.
- Submitted works will be returned to the applicants.

Please fill in the required information on the application form and attach it to the upper right corner on the back of your artwork. Then submit it to the secretariat in person or send it by mail.

Selection Process
The judging will be conducted by expert judges (Yoshiharu Sasaki, Director of the Saito Kiyoshi Museum; Keiko Otake, colored pencil artist) and the Tadami River Line Tourism Association.
An evaluation committee composed of Tourism Association officials will conduct the review and determine the award winners.
Please note: Judges may be substituted if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.
Awards
Grand Prize:
One winner in each division (Oku-Aizu local specialty products worth approximately ¥10,000)
Excellence Award:
One winner in each division (Oku-Aizu local specialty products worth approximately ¥5,000)
Special Award:
Several winners (Oku-Aizu local specialty products worth approximately ¥3,000)
Honorable Mention:
Several winners (Oku-Aizu local specialty products worth approximately ¥1,000)

Exhibition
- Exhibition Period:
From mid-October to around late November 2024. - Location:
Yanazu Town, Mishima Town, Kaneyama Town, Showa Village, and Tadami Town
The exhibition is scheduled to tour the five locations listed above. Detailed dates and venues will be announced in early October on the official websites of each town and village.
