Aizu Korori Three Kannon: "Tachiki Kannon"

Tachiki Kannon is a standing statue of a thousand-armed Kannon carved from a single tree. Its total height of 8.5 meters makes it one of the largest standing wooden Buddhist statues in Japan. The three Kannon—Nakata Kannon (Kouanji Temple, Aizumisato Town), Tachiki Kannon (Eiryuji Temple, Aizubange Town), and Torioi Kannon (Nyohoji Temple, Nishiaizu Town)—are said to grant a peaceful death without prolonged illness to those who visit them, and many people come to fulfill their wishes.
