  Miyagawa Senbonzakura (Thousand Cherry Trees)

  Typically, the Somei Yoshino cherry trees along the Miyagawa River bloom all at once from mid to late April, creating a veritable tunnel of cherry blossoms. With Mount Bandai in the background, this spectacle is known as one of Aizu's most famous cherry blossom spots.

  Isasumi Shrine

  This shrine boasts a 2,000-year history as the Ichinomiya (highest-ranked shrine) of Iwaki Province and the guardian shrine of Aizu. It is said to bring good fortune, business growth, abundant harvests, protection from evil, and good luck. Ancient rituals such as the Otaue Festival (rice planting festival) are still practiced here.

  Isasumi Shrine Outer Garden Iris Garden

  Boasting one of the largest collections in the Tohoku region, over 200 varieties of irises bloom here. The annual "Iris Festival" is held from mid-June to early July to coincide with the peak viewing season.

  Kirakuya Shinryu

  This Chinese restaurant originated as a diner in front of the station, said to have opened around the early Showa period. It boasts a rich menu, including Aizu's three major B-class gourmet dishes: "Curry Yakisoba," "Sauce Katsudon (Chicken)," and "Hormone Set Meal." Among these, the "Hormone Set Meal" is a popular dish, made with a secret miso sauce that has been carefully preserved and added to since 1965.
