A wall painting titled "The Scenery of Tadami as Seen by Ami" will be created on the walls of Aizu-Shiozawa Station in Tadami Town, one of the movie's filming locations.
To commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the full reopening of the Tadami Line, Tadami Town will create a wall painting inspired by the mural painted in Taiwan by Ami, the protagonist of the movie "18×2 Beyond Youthful Days."
Details
・Schedule: September 20–25 (Tentative)
・Location: Aizu-Shiozawa Station (Rear Exterior Wall)
・Artist: Rumi Yoshida (The artist responsible for Ami’s paintings in the film and sister of Director Michihito Fujii)
Background
The project began when students from Tadami Junior High School—juniors of the character Ami—reached out to Rumi Yoshida. Inspired by the movie, they asked her to paint a mural at an unstaffed station in Tadami, just as she had painted the walls of "Karaoke Kobe" in the film. After several consultations between the town and Ms. Yoshida, the project was officially greenlit. To mark the 2nd anniversary of the Tadami Line's full reopening on October 1, the mural is scheduled for completion by the end of September. The artwork will be based on a photograph of the area around Aizu-Shiozawa Station captured by Oku-Aizu local photographer Kenko Hoshi.
