Tohoku University produced an animated video illustrating the deformation of the Daiichi Tadami River Bridge and the forces acting on its structural members.
The colors of the structural members indicate the forces acting on them.
Red:Tension Blue:Compression
The video shows how various forces act on the components and that the bridge was constructed using advanced technology.
While enjoying the breathtaking view from the First Tadami River Bridge is important, it is also interesting to consider the physical forces acting upon the structure.
